Summer TV: Alias

Summer is the perfect time to dig through Netflix for the perfect throwback tv show. This summer I have been devouring the old J.J. Abrams show, Alias, starring Jennifer Garner. While not quite a Joss Whedon production, fans of his can definitely get into this. I think it is a great combination of action, mystery, a slightly patchy mythology, and plenty of attractive people. As a nerd with style I can't stop watching.

The show centers around a grad student, Sydney Bristow, who works for what she thought was a branch of the CIA, SD-6. She tells her fiancee about her spy work, they kill him, she finds out they are not CIA, and she teams up with the CIA as a double agent. In later seasons other stuff happens but that comes later.

It's a somewhat lighter take on the spy dramas around today, and perfect for marathoning after a hard day of work. Because as much as your job might suck, you didn't get shot by your presumed dead mother. Here's the IMDb page and the Netflix page, happy binge watching!
