Schools and events vary but the rules are always the same.
For a kegger or frat party be slightly more casual, for a sorority, or formal
event be slightly dressier.
For the Saturday night shenanigans
- Don’t wear anything that would be ruined if you fell down.
Yeah you may only have one beer, but you might not, and shit happens. Don’t let
it ruin your wardrobe or your reputation. So nothing too flimsy or fancy or low
cut or skirt-like. I don’t wear skirts out ever.
- Drunk people spill stuff. Have a go to pair of shoes that
you don’t care if they get beer on them, get puked on, or worse. I have an old
pair of faux leather boots that are perfect.
- Have some designated tops for parties. A bit sexier than your normal fair, and honestly, cheaper. I buy tops at my favorite consignment store.
Here are my go to going out outfits.

Tank // Jacket // Jeans // Kate Spade Earrings // Bracelet // Top Siders
For the Formal Affair
The rules are best summarized by these fabulous quotes
- “Life is too short to wear boring dresses” unknown
- “Dress as if you’re going to see your worst enemy” Kimora
Lee Simons
- “Dress shabbily and remember the dress; dress impeccably and they remember the woman” Coco Chanel
So be bold and fierce and impeccable in these great party
outfits.
